The Association
Brf Mässen is a genuine housing cooperative that owns and manages the properties Mässen 7–13—that is, Skeppargatan 75–83 and 96–102, Erik Dahlbergsgatan 27, 29, and 35, as well as Strindbergsgatan 37. The buildings were constructed between 1929 and 1938 and were designed by architect Sven Wallander. The association manages 642 apartments as well as two tenant-owned commercial spaces (the Coop on Erik Dahlbergsgatan, which includes a store and warehouse).
The association also has 37 rental units totaling 1,644 square meters; in addition to these, there are 160 extra storage units located in attics and basements. In addition to these, the association has three of its own spaces for its own operations, such as a boardroom in the basement at Skeppargatan 98, a property management office on the ground floor at Skeppargatan 98, and a space intended for use during major property repairs, located in the basement at Skeppargatan 79.
The association owns the land on which the properties are built, the courtyard behind the Skeppargatan properties, and the open spaces between the properties at Erik Dahlbergsg. 27–29 and 29–35. The strip of land between the properties on Skeppargatan is owned by the City of Stockholm. The courtyard features lawns, flower beds, seating areas, and bike racks.
Economy
The association is in good financial standing, with revenue from rental properties. The association also has hidden assets in the form of basement spaces, which are being evaluated to determine whether they can be converted into commercial spaces and/or residential units.
Transfer Fee
The association charges a transfer fee of 2.5% of the property’s assessed value from the buyer, as well as a mortgage fee of 1.5% of the property’s assessed value from the mortgagor.
The laundry room for this apartment is located at Skeppargatan 98 and features several washing machines and drying facilities. There is also a washing machine and dryer in the stairwell of building 96 that are free to use.

The properties are designated with a “q” and form an intact Functionalist neighborhood designed for HSB by architect Sven Wallander. A “q” designation means that the buildings are of particular cultural and historical value.
The author Karin Boye was among the first to move into 102 Skeppargatan, and she lived there from 1933 to 1942.
