A magnificent 18th-century farmhouse with roots in Bergslagen, located in a scenic and unique setting next to a nature reserve and a swimming lake – just 20 minutes from Stockholm. The property maintains a consistently high standard with beautiful details such as boiserie ceilings and wainscoting, wide floorboards in solid Douglas fir, and beautiful tiled stoves and open fireplaces. The cozy country kitchen features a wood-burning stove that creates a rustic and cozy atmosphere. There is also an orangery, a wine cellar, and an exclusive spa area with a copper bathtub, sauna/steam room, and gym.

The charming brick gatehouse/guest house is adorned with mouth-blown and leaded windows and doors, giving it a period character. The main building also has a separate apartment – perfect as a rental opportunity. The property also offers a garage, a root cellar, and several parking spaces with electrical outlets and charging stations.

The farmhouse, a log cabin, was originally built in Långbanshyttan in Bergslagen and moved to Kungsholmen Stockholm in 1764 before finally being erected at Kyrksjön in the 1960s. It remained in the same family's possession until 2015, when an extensive and costly renovation was carried out using exclusive materials and genuine craftsmanship.

The architect-designed Baroque garden is a feast for the eyes with beautiful stone paving, an allé walnut trees leading up to the entrance, an elegant pool area, and a pergola where vines, clematis, and blackberries create a lush oasis over the patio with a fireplace and babbling fountain. The garden is carefully designed with fruit trees that yield abundant harvests, and the back has been inspired by classic sunken gardens.

Description

Interior

In 2015, the farm underwent a complete renovation, including reconstruction and new construction. Externally, new plaster was applied to the facade, new windows were installed, a new roof was laid, and a new gatehouse was built. Internally, all surface layers were renovated, with partially new ceilings and panels. New floors in solid Douglas fir, limestone, and marble were installed throughout, as well as wall-to-wall carpeting in some rooms. Geothermal heating was installed, and both plumbing and electrical systems were rewired. The garden was replanted, paved, and a pool area was added.
Further, more detailed renovations have been carried out on an ongoing basis up to the present day, including planting, the rear garden, outdoor lighting, irrigation systems, surface layers, site-built solid wood furnishings, electrical work, utility kitchen, etc. 2019-24.

Water-based underfloor heating throughout, with additional electric underfloor heating in the bathroom and laundry area in the utility entrance. The gatehouse has electric underfloor heating and an air-to-air heat pump. The garage is heated by an air-to-air heat pump.
