The villa was designed in 1909 by an unknown architect and built the following year. According to the original plans, the house was originally built as the Berg Sisters’ orphanage. The National Romantic architectural style remains prominent in the red wooden facade, the broken-pattern brick roof, the mullioned windows, the large southwest-facing veranda, and the house’s several balconies. Particularly beautiful is the preserved front staircase with its ornate woodwork—a lovely reminder of the building’s history.

HISTORY
The house was designed in 1909 by an unknown architect and built the following year, in 1910. According to the original blueprints, the villa at Askrikegatan 17 is the former orphanage of the Berg sisters. The house was built as a two-story villa, and the original front staircase features intricate woodwork. On the southwest side, there is a large veranda and several balconies.
FINANCES
A low-debt association with sound finances. No fee increases are currently planned (Sept. '26). The association is self-managed, meaning everyone pitches in to take care of lawn mowing, snow removal, and similar tasks. For major maintenance, as well as the annual financial statements and tax returns, an external service provider is hired. An upgrade to the heating system has reduced energy costs. Mortgage registration fee: 1% of the applicable price base amount per mortgage deed. Transfer fee: 2.5% of the applicable price base amount, payable by the seller. The association purchases supplementary housing insurance for its members.
