A Central Park vibe in Humlegården

High above the trees, with an unobstructed view of Humlegården’s greenery, the rooftops, and the city’s skyline, lies this penthouse designed by Love Arbén. The total floor area of 267 square meters is spread over two levels. The living areas span a floor length of 16.5 meters, and the vaulted, church-like ceiling with a 5.5-meter rise to the ridge creates a remarkable sense of space and volume. Facing Humlegården are two narrow balconies with folding balcony doors, and two windows offer views of beautiful sunsets.

Love Arbén has created a meticulously designed apartment where the building’s historic character meets a modern and lavish palette of materials. The apartment, built between 2012 and 2015, is characterized by large glass surfaces, generous living areas, and a consistent architectural clarity.

The location and the view are key features. To the east, there is also a 22-square-meter balcony with large, fully glazed sliding panels, while glass folding doors on the opposite side help bring light into the home.

The floor plan is well thought out, featuring a large, open living area where the kitchen and dining area are directly adjacent to the east-facing balcony and the terrace facing the courtyard. The living area features a 5.5-meter ceiling height, large skylights, and a centrally located fireplace. The kitchen also offers direct access to the large terrace facing the courtyard. The floor is covered in newly laid Öland limestone that matches the fireplace.

The master bedroom opens onto the terrace facing the courtyard and features an adjoining walk-in closet and a bathroom with Carrara marble, a bathtub, and a separate shower. The two other bedrooms have fully glazed sliding doors leading to French balconies, built-in closets, and private bathrooms. In addition, the home features hidden and well-integrated storage.

Materials and details are unified by a consistent architectural style featuring solid oak plank floors, limestone from Norrvange, Carrara marble, custom-designed storage, and built-in closets. Underfloor heating throughout, electrically operated skylights, and well-planned Helvar lighting contribute to functionality and comfort. The bedroom on the upper level also features air conditioning.

The location at the very top of the building offers a quiet living environment with views of the sky, greenery, and the city’s rooftops. The main entrance is on the 4th floor and is complemented by an elevator that goes directly to the 5th floor.
