With sweeping views of Hotellviken, a pool, and sunshine from morning until late evening, this villa—designed by architect Anders Landström—is located on the west coast of Älgö. The architecture is characterized by large windows and French doors that bring in light and allow the view to flow through the home’s rooms. Outdoors, there are spacious sun decks made of ipé wood, several areas for relaxation and socializing, and an in-ground concrete pool. The villa’s private section features a master bedroom, several dressing rooms, and a spa area with direct access to the pool area. A separate children’s wing, a small apartment with its own entrance, a two-car carport, and a boat slip just below complete the property.

Description

Description

With the view of Hotellviken serving as a recurring backdrop, Anders Landström has designed a villa where light, space, and a connection to the surroundings are central elements. The large glass walls open the interior up to the water and the expansive outdoor spaces, while the sun shines on the property from morning until late evening. Since 2007, the current owners have developed both the home and the outdoor environment with customized solutions and a clear attention to materials and function.

The interior features sandable oak floors and limestone flooring throughout. All floors have hydronic floor heating supplied by the geothermal heating system. Storage space is generous, and the custom-built oak cabinetry is a recurring feature throughout the home. Some of the lighting is controlled via Plejd, while the outdoor lighting is dimmable and regulated by a twilight switch. The wet areas are fully tiled and feature limestone tile floors.

The kitchen features cabinetry from HTH Line. The cabinet doors were repainted in 2020, the cooktop is from the same year, and the dishwasher was installed in 2023. The other appliances, from Siemens, date from the year the house was built, and the range hood is from Trepol. Between the kitchen and the living room stands a solid masonry fireplace featuring both an open hearth and a stove, surrounded by soapstone. This placement gives the fireplaces a prominent presence in the home’s common area.

The private wing includes the master bedroom, several dressing rooms, and a full-service spa area with direct access to the pool area. The children’s wing is a separate section featuring three bedrooms, a family room, a TV room, and a restroom with a sink. Near the main entrance, there is ample storage space and a large laundry room. There is also an additional bathroom here, as well as a room that can be used as a bedroom or a home office.

A small apartment with its own entrance is separate from the main residence. It includes a bathroom, closet, bedroom, and living room that is set up for a small kitchen. Outside, there is a private balcony. The property also has a large storage room and utility room, as well as a carport with space for two cars.

The pool is cast-in-place concrete and can be heated naturally or via the geothermal heating system. Adjacent to it, the sun deck stretches out, featuring several clearly defined seating areas. The boat slip is accessed via a small path just below the property. Nearby, there is also a headland with a rocky swimming area and evening sun.
