The finished attic level features the master bedroom with an adjoining walk-in closet, a bathroom, and access to a small terrace. Höglandet is a neighborhood in Bromma in Västerort and is part of the Bromma Garden City. Höglandet is the name of the area between Ålsten and Nockeby. The original area was developed in the 1880s, when people traveled here by steamboat to Grönvik’s pier. At that time, the area was called Grönvik, hence the name of the long coastal road that runs along the water, Grönviksvägen. Today’s buildings were constructed mainly in the 1920s and 1930s. Development of the Ålsten area began in 1923, the Höglandet area in 1926, and Nockeby in 1930. The area became a neighborhood in 1932, and its name was coined after Höglandstorget, which had been named in 1925 based on the topography of the area. Today, Höglandet is one of Bromma’s most attractive neighborhoods thanks to the size and architecture of its buildings, as well as its central yet peaceful location in Bromma.
A very attractive, architect-designed, mature villa garden offering privacy, with a south-southwest-facing front yard featuring carefully selected flowers, shrubs, and trees. All shrubs and plants are child-friendly, including various varieties of currants, elderberry, gooseberries, apples (Ingrid Marie), rose hips, and cherry trees along the entire kitchen side. Shrubs include thuja, juniper, jasmine, and lilac. The trees consist of cherry trees, bird cherry, crabapple, and apple trees. Outside the kitchen, behind a rocky outcrop, there are oak and maple trees. Lawns cover most of the area.
The house is situated in the center of the lot, providing a good play area at the back of the house.
In addition to the loggia dining area, there is another large dining area above the garage, as well as an additional patio against the side of the house. The patios and the walkway with stairs are paved with Öland limestone slabs. There are views of Lake Mälaren and the surrounding nature from everywhere, and all patios offer expansive lake views. Since the house is situated at the very top of the hill, it enjoys sunlight all day long and for longer periods than houses located lower down.
There are three terraces facing south/southwest. On the middle floor, there is a balcony outside the library and a larger terrace outside the master bedroom that spans the roof of the loggia. The attic floor has a large, private terrace outside the bedroom. All offer sweeping views of Lake Mälaren and the natural areas on Kärsön and Lovön.
