The association comprises 41 condominium units.
Brf Silo III shares, together with the neighboring association Brf Qvarnen, a common tower room/party room located on floors 10 and 11 of the building, a gym located on the ground floor of the building, and a terrace located on the hill behind the building. Brf Silo also has a hobby room, a stroller storage room, a bicycle storage room, and a trash room/recycling station on the ground floor. An outdoor area on the hill south of the property, featuring a pergola and a grill, is accessible via a footbridge from the 8th floor. Storage units assigned to each apartment are located on the 8th floor. The courtyard features illuminated rock walls, seating areas, and play areas. Parking spaces are available in the garage of the adjacent building, Qvarnen Tre Kronor.
Hot water and electricity are billed separately for each apartment. The bill is sent along with the monthly fee. For this apartment, the estimated monthly operating cost is 900 SEK.
The apartments are equipped with a media hub for telephone, data, and TV, which is integrated into the electrical panel.
The property was built in 1912, and the silo was designed by architect J. B. Jensen. The building has a stairwell with two entrances: a main entrance on the lake side and another entrance at the rear of the building.
While Rits Arkitekter was responsible for the renovation of the building itself, the architectural firm Koncept Stockholm was commissioned to maximize the potential of the interior of the apartment. Koncept took the unique location between the city and the archipelago as its starting point and drew inspiration from the building itself:
“The silo stands solidly, built of brick, stone, wood, and steel, and these materials are echoed inside,” says Anna Berntman of Koncept Stockholm. “All materials have been chosen with care—fine, high-quality materials that feel substantial and age beautifully. The location, between the city and the archipelago, has a special light and a sense of space that we wanted to capture, which is why we’ve worked with a sequence of light colors.”
The apartment features 5.5-meter-high ceilings, exceptionally stylish interior design, and majestic views of the water from every room. A magnificent pointed-arch window sets the tone in the social area, where the kitchen and living room merge into an open, elegant floor plan, while the master bedroom is located in a more private part of the apartment, with its own bathroom and walk-in closet. Here, the east-facing windows allow you to enjoy the sunrise over the inner archipelago from the comfort of your bed. The lower level also features a study with a view of Djurgården. Upstairs, you’ll find a bedroom and a spacious bathroom with large double doors that open out onto the beautiful waterfront view, even from the bath.
Kvarnholmen is a new neighborhood emerging in Nacka. From the waterfront, you have a view of Djurgården, with Nedre Manilla and the Thielska Gallery directly across the water. Nacka and Lidingö are visible to the right, while Gamla Stan the Söder church tower are visible to the left. Plans for the area include local amenities, schools, cultural events, and restaurants. Adjacent to the waterfront are green spaces and a marina.
With the boat-based Sjöpendeln, operated by SL, which runs between Nybroviken and Kvarnholmen, it’s easy to get to and from work by boat. If you want to travel by land, it takes 15 minutes from T-Centralen.
