Real estate

Builder Edvard Johansson had the building constructed on land sold by AB Träförsäljning. The house was designed by the architects Höög & Morsing. In 1923, Consul General Carl Adam Carlson purchased the house, which was fully completed in 1924. To accommodate a garage, a structure was added to the property in 1930.

In 1935, the house was bequeathed to the “Foundation for God’s Help in Memory of Consul’s Wife Lisen Carlson,” which took possession of it in 1940. According to the Foundation’s bylaws, the pastor of the Jakobs parish—later the dean of Stockholm—was to serve as chair of the board. The proceeds were to be “distributed annually among needy individuals who have led a good life and who have ‘seen better days’—the so-called ‘pauvres honteux.’” In 2000, the Porslinsbruket 21 housing cooperative was formed, and it acquired the property in 2002.
