Dalarö Hotell Bellevue was built in the latter half of the 1880s and, over the course of its more than 140 years, has served as a summer retreat, an annex, a recreational center, and a conference facility. The building is now undergoing its most extensive transformation since it was erected on the rocky outcrop above Dalarö Pier—a meticulous renovation into nine exclusive apartments, carried out with respect for the building’s rare architectural character in the Dutch Renaissance style. The facade, windows, and woodwork have been restored and supplemented with lost details. Inside, the renovation follows a consistent design aesthetic featuring white archipelago-style woodwork, white-pigmented wood floors, and patterned tile floors—a design language that allows the building’s history to shine through without turning it into a museum. The kitchens are custom-built to the highest standard, featuring marble countertops, classic faucets, and fixtures designed by Jonas Bohlins for Örsjö. Bathrooms and other spaces are executed with the same attention to detail and exceptionally well-optimized layouts. Everything is new beneath the surface. The plumbing, bathrooms, kitchens, and finishes have all been completely renovated, ensuring worry-free living without the maintenance burdens that come with an older home. The building has an elevator, and all apartments are accessible from the basement level without stairs—a given that is rarely the case in Dalarö’s older buildings. Parking with electric charging stations is available within the common area. The property’s nine apartments share exclusive use of a dock facility with the option of a private boat slip, a sauna right on the water, a conservatory with a fireplace and an outdoor kitchen, as well as a park-like setting designed by landscape architect Johan Paju. The common property—Haninge Dalarö GA:17—includes all twelve residences in the Bellevue project, including the three detached villas. Dalarö is located just under 45 minutes from Stockholm. The natural surroundings, proximity to the water, and the authentic character of the archipelago community make this location a true idyll in the southern archipelago.
