Östermalmstorg is the hub of Östermalm the market hall, the Dramaten theater, and Strandvägen, among other attractions. Östermalmstorg has been a bustling marketplace almost year-round, and Östermalm’s famous market hall—known simply as “the hall”—draws large crowds. On March 6, the newly renovated Market Hall was inaugurated after four years. During this time, the Market Hall has been operating from a temporary location at Östermalmstorg, which is scheduled to be dismantled and removed in August.
Nybrogatan is teeming with cafés and restaurants. Along Sibyllegatan, you’ll find beautiful views of Hedvig Eleonora Church. The streets surrounding the square feature a mix of old and new. Here, buildings from the 1890s blend with functionalist architecture.
