An exceptionally tasteful 172-square-meter family apartment in a classic turn-of-the-century building, where beautiful original details harmonize with modern touches. BF Härolden No. 15 u.p.a. is a genuine housing cooperative in Stockholm. The cooperative was founded in 1920 and consists of 15 condominium units, one rental unit, and one commercial space. The property, which consists of six apartments located at Scheelegatan 26 and was completed in 1888. The builder was A. G. Sällström, who was also involved in the demolition of King Gustav III’s opera house and the construction of the Stockholm Opera House. According to rumor, there are interior elements in the building that originated from the old opera house. The beautifully decorated stairwell was renovated in 2013 and features exquisite wrought-iron railings, ceiling murals, and ornate apartment doors.

ENTRANCE HALL

The entrance hall features bright, open spaces, and the flooring consists first of a marble floor with underfloor heating, followed by new herringbone parquet. There is ample storage in a separate coat closet, where the doorway is adorned with a stunningly sculpted lintel and wooden door trim. The coat closet is equipped with Elfa shelving, providing plenty of space for jackets and shoes, and is discreetly concealed behind a thick velvet curtain. An entryway with built-in storage leads to one of the floor’s bedrooms, whose doorway is also adorned with a beautifully designed lintel and wooden trim. Recessed spotlights in the ceiling provide excellent lighting, and the walls are painted white.
LIVING ROOM The stately living room offers a sense of magnificent space, where the generous ceiling height, elegantly designed stucco work, and tall wall paneling bear witness to the grandeur of late 19th-century architecture. Along the wall facing the courtyard is a large window and access to one of the floor’s two balconies, which are adorned with intricate decorative paintings and leaded glass panels. The walls are painted in a light pink shade that harmonizes with the white-painted wall paneling, and the floor consists of fine herringbone oak parquet. The doorways leading to the hallway and the floor’s master bedroom are adorned with beautifully designed, white-painted transoms, and there are double doors leading to the kitchen. The living room also features a large fireplace with recessed marble surrounding the floor.
KITCHEN
The kitchen has been tastefully renovated and offers plenty of space for both family and friends to gather. The kitchen features one of two exits to the terrace. Next to the double doors leading to the living room is a generously sized area with room for a large dining table. There is plenty of storage space in double rows of wall cabinets and base cabinets that run along the Carrara marble countertop.The kitchen is a custom-built Kvänum kitchen, painted on-site, featuring smart floor-to-ceiling storage, a Franke sink, and a Bugnatese faucet. The appliances include a Fjäråskupan range hood, an extra-wide Ilve stove with a double oven, and a built-in double-door refrigerator and freezer from Gaggenau. The kitchen island features a large Carrara marble work surface with a recessed sink. Underneath the countertop are additional storage cabinets, a Siemens dishwasher, and a Gaggenau wine cooler. The floor features herringbone parquet installed in 2017 and is equipped with hydronic heating; above the work area, there are recessed spotlights under the upper cabinets. Plenty of light comes in through two windows, and there is access to a large, furnishable balcony. The balcony has wooden decking and wall lighting and is pleasantly situated facing the courtyard. The balcony is approximately 8 square meters and faces south.
BEDROOM 1
The apartment’s largest bedroom is located next to the living room and also serves well as a dining room. It features bright, very spacious areas and high ceilings with beautifully designed stucco moldings. A tall window with an elegant arched top and double doors open onto a large balcony that catches the afternoon sun and features a decorative wrought-iron railing. The bedroom also features high, white-painted baseboards that contrast with the Toile de Jouy wallpaper by Manuel Canovas on the walls, and the floor consists of lacquered herringbone parquet. Double doors with decorative transoms lead to the living room and to the second bedroom.
BEDROOM 2
The apartment’s second bedroom has entrances from both the hallway and the bedroom itself. Adjacent to the hallway is an antechamber with two built-in closets featuring lighting. This room also has a large window with an arched upper section, as well as beautiful ceiling moldings and door lintels. The walls are covered in American zebra-print wallpaper, and the elegant floor consists of lacquered herringbone parquet.
BEDROOM 3
The third bedroom has an entrance from the hallway, as well as an antechamber with a built-in closet and a storage cabinet. It also features a large window, and the ceiling is decorated with stucco moldings. The floor is covered with herringbone parquet, and the walls are covered with pink-and-white striped wallpaper from Farrow and Ball.
BATHROOM The bathroom features modern and luxurious materials, including large white tiles and a dark gray tile floor with electric underfloor heating. The bathroom is spacious and equipped with both a corner bathtub from Svenska Badkar with a whirlpool system and a shower corner with folding glass shower doors. The vanity unit from Aspen is 100 cm wide and features walnut storage drawers, along with a mirror and lighting above. Matching walnut wall cabinets, a towel warmer from Svedbergs, and a toilet. A Miele stackable washer and dryer with a white top cabinet. The ceiling features dimmable spotlights and recessed speakers that can be connected to an audio system.
GUEST BATHROOM: The hallway leads to a separate guest bathroom. Here, too, there is a glass partition facing the stairwell, featuring exceptionally beautiful paintings.The floor is tiled in dark gray with electric underfloor heating, the walls are painted white, andtheceilingfeaturesrecessed spotlights. There is a sink with a mirror above it, a toilet, and a tall white wall cabinet.
