Fiversättraön 17 - Fiversättraön, Ornö
Welcome to the archipelago cottage on Fiversättraön, or “Stråholmen,” as the island was called in *S.O.S. – A Sailing Club Trip* (1988). The property enjoys a prime west-facing location with sun from morning until late evening. The buildings are in the traditional archipelago style, featuring well-thought-out and beautifully cohesive architecture. The low-maintenance lot features gentle rocky outcrops and beautiful archipelago scenery. There is an excellent, sheltered harbor with crystal-clear water and sufficient depth for sailboats just inside the dock. The property includes a boathouse, a sauna, and a large dock deck. The old boathouse has been converted into a banquet hall with a restaurant kitchen. The restaurant Skärgårdstorpet operated there from 1994 to 1999.
Two larger residential buildings and a guest house. In addition, there are several sheds and storage spaces. Fiversättraön is accessible by Vaxholm ferry from the city or Dalarö, and from here you’re close to the outer archipelago. Shops and restaurants are available on Kymmendö, two nautical miles west of the island. If you’d like to travel a bit further, there’s Utö with its inn or the beautiful Fjärdlång. Welcome to a unique opportunity to acquire a west-facing property with stunning lake views.
The first mention of the fishing cottage on Fiversättra Island appears in the church records of Ornö Church in 1862. An interesting fact is that the frail Fiversättran was present at Madame Flood’s wedding in Strindberg’s *The People of Hemsö* (Kymmendö). From 1862 until 1930, the cottage was inhabited by the Askengren family—shoemakers and fishermen—until it was abandoned. Fiversättra Island was zoned by the Municipality of Hanninge in 1959. The island was divided into 105 properties. Sales of the properties began in 1959. This property is the only one that existed prior to 1959. The property was used as the original archipelago setting on Stråholmen in 1988 during the filming of Lasse Åberg’s *SOS Sällskapsresan*. Between 1994 and 1999, the restaurant *Skärgårdstorpet* was operated on the property. In 1999, the property passed into the hands of its current owner.
