Lennartsnäs Castle offers high-end living space of 180 square meters on the main floor (the second of three floors). Lennartsnäs provides an unparalleled setting in a rural idyll. The castle boasts an exceptional location, and the apartment features unobstructed views to the east over the idyllic castle park down toward Görvälnfjärden, as well as to the west and north toward the beautiful English-style park. A unique home in scenic surroundings, just 30 minutes from Stockholm.

The apartment has been carefully renovated with respect for the castle’s original style, transforming it into a modern residence. A grand salon features stucco moldings, original parquet flooring, and magnificent 4.2-meter-high ceilings. The salon originally served as the castle’s grand dining room. The buyer is free to divide the salon according to their spatial needs (see alternative floor plans as examples). The other rooms feature solid, wide floorboards and the same generous ceiling height. The original limestone floor remains in the hallway. There is a cozy bedroom, a guest bathroom, and a large bathroom. Plenty of space in closets and other storage areas throughout the apartment. A large, stately kitchen with ample space for china and other items, as well as a dining area for 12–14 people. A solid, custom-built wood-paneled kitchen features a large masonry range hood that extends over the open fireplace and the exclusive Molteni stove—a favorite among chefs.

A legal entity may purchase the apartment.

The condominium association includes a beautiful English-style park, a boathouse, a playhouse, a hunting lodge, a dock, a tennis court, a small tennis clubhouse, and an orchard. The surrounding area offers excellent opportunities for horseback riding with several stables, golf at the well-known Bro Hof or Kungsängen Golf Club, and tennis at Kungsängen Tennis Club, for example. A five-minute drive from the castle is the nearest town, Kungsängen, with public services such as schools, buses, and trains. By car or commuter train, it’s only 30 minutes to central Stockholm, Arlanda, and Bromma airports.

History

Lennartsnäs is named after Field Marshal Lennart Torstensson, and the estate was inherited by his son, Anders Torstensson. Lennartsnäs was taken over by his daughter, Greta Magdalena Torstensson, who died in 1747 as the last of her famous lineage. In 1758, her heirs sold the estate to the merchant Henrik König, who in turn sold it in 1769 to the future Marshal of the Court, Gustaf Wachschlager. He began construction of the current castle building but left it unfinished upon his death in 1812. After Wachschlager’s death, the estate was inherited by his grandson, Gustaf Göran Gabriel Oxenstierna, who sold it to Count Per Gustaf af Ugglas in 1831. The af Ugglas family owned the castle until 1985. Since then, the castle has had two owners until the formation of the condominium association in 2015.
