Welcome to a charming Skåne-style farmhouse from 1894 with a thatched roof on the outskirts of Lund. In the village of Värpinge, you’ll find this semi-detached home with an older and a newer section, connected by a practical passageway in the form of a spacious entryway with closet space, a guest bathroom, and lovely windows. Here, you get the best of both worlds—the location is both close to the city and rural, a perfect blend of old and new. On the entry level, in the original house, you’ll find the large kitchen with a spacious dining area and a welcoming lounge corner in front of the fireplace from the 1890s. At the far end of the wing is a smaller room, a bathroom with a laundry area, and access to a private section with three bedrooms. In the second, newer part of the house is the living room with an open ceiling and provisions for a second fireplace. Here you’ll find another bedroom with an adjoining bathroom and a walk-in closet, offering delightful everyday luxury. From the living room, a beautiful custom-built staircase leads up to two additional bedrooms and a loft balcony. Hardwood floors throughout, with hydronic floor heating in the newer section and hydronic radiators in the older section.

A lovely and spacious patio is accessible from the living room, bedrooms, and kitchen. Out here, you’ll find several seating areas and a fully equipped outdoor kitchen with a pizza oven and a custom-built smoker/grill with a rotisserie—perfect for dinners, barbecues, and social gatherings. Infrared heating, remote-controlled dimmable lighting, designer lamps, a refrigerator, and a wine cooler ensure cozy moments with family and friends. A lush, secluded garden with old apple trees. The property offers sun from morning to evening on any of the house’s patios, and there’s an outdoor shower for really hot days. It’s entirely possible to convert the house into a duplex or multi-generational home by adding an additional kitchen in the newer section. The property also includes a storage room and an annex with a kitchen and bathroom that can be used as an office, guest house, or for rental. Parking for three cars.

Nearby you’ll find a golf course, the Nova Lund shopping center, a pizzeria, and a grocery store. Central Lund, Lomma Beach, and nature reserves are also within easy reach. Good bus connections. Several schools (Fågelskolan, Engelska Skolan) and preschools are nearby.

Description

Renovations

An addition was built to the house in 1928 (the current kitchen and part of the dining area), and another wing was added in 2016, with a passageway connecting it to the older section. Designed by architect Gunilla Rommerskirchen, with lighting design by Anders Camré of Preference.

Kitchen: Invita from 2005, new tile in 2021, countertop re-sanded and oil-treated in 2021. Refrigerator/freezer from 2005, dishwasher from 2020, cooktop from 2020.
Bathrooms: Renovated in 2016 in the new section, 2008 in the old section. The bathrooms have tiled walls.
Laundry appliances: Washer and dryer from 2022
Flooring: The flooring in the new section is Saga Nordic Winter Breeze 14mm oak. In the old section, pine flooring was installed in 2005; it was sanded and stained in 2016 to match the oak flooring in the living room. The new section has water-based radiant floor heating installed in 2016; the old section, kitchen hallway, hallway adjacent to the bathroom, and the bathroom have electric radiant floor heating. The walls on the upper floor of the old section are partly painted fiberglass fabric and partly painted directly onto the wall. The kitchen and dining room feature textured paint. The walls in the new section are plastered, and the bedrooms feature subtle accent wallpaper. New stones on the fireplace installed in 2005.
Windows: In the old section, replaced with new triple-pane wooden windows in 2022 (except for two bathroom windows, which were replaced in 2008). In the new section, 2+1 windows from RM Snickeri installed in 2016.
Heating: District heating installed in 2016; solar panels (18 units) installed in 2023.
Electrical: Partially replaced in 2016; electric vehicle charger installed in 2023.
Drainage: Old house system installed in 2004; new section installed in 2016.
Chimney: Inspection in 2024; “pipes” in the chimney flue installed in 2006.
Facade: In 2004 , the facade of the old section was completely re-plastered and then repainted in 2022. In 2016, the soffit boards were replaced in conjunction with the installation of the thatched roof. The paneling on the south-facing gable was replaced in 2022.
Roof: thatched roof from 2016; new ridge boarding on both roofs in 2025

Outdoor area: Patio with outdoor kitchen—complete outdoor kitchen (the seller will take the freestanding countertop outside with them). The garden was landscaped in 2019 with gray/black slate stones covering approximately 160 square meters, with joints to prevent weeds. Paving stones along the driveway and the front of the house. Cobblestones along the foundation wall at the front. There is currently space for three cars in the driveway, with additional space for a garage.
Other buildings: Storage shed built in 2023. Bicycle shed built in 2010. Playhouse/storage shed. The annex (new kitchen in 2018) can be rented out or used as an office or guest house. It is said that the annex was once a laundry house and a chicken coop. It was built from the ground up in 1996 (by the previous owner).
